Sample Silent Judas Script
EXT. streets of Berlin - Early Morning
Police cars intermingled with US Army vehicles race through the darkened city streets.
int. living room - continuous
A tall, well-dressed MAN stands in the middle of the living room. The only source of light is the murky twilight coming from the window at the far corner of the room. On the table in front of him is a Nazi uniform.
MAN (V.O.)
(in German)
They are coming.
EXT. labor camp - day (flashback)
MAN
(in German)
What...?
Nazi Guard
(in German)
I said they are coming, sir.
MAN
(in German)
Oh... Good.
The two men stand by a fence at the edge of the sparse, snow-covered camp. The Man wears his uniform, a high ranking party member. The guard he speaks to is rather young and rather plain looking. Other guards lead a large group of prisoners, single file, toward the two men.
EXT. STREETS OF BERLIN - EARLY MORNING
Some soldiers are dropped off as the rest of the vehicles drive onward. The soldier who appears to be leading the group holds a piece of paper. He points the others towards the house fronts ahead.
INT. LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
The Man stares with piercing blue eyes at the red sash on the arm of the uniform.
EXT. LABOR CAMP - DAY (FLASHBACK)
The sickly-looking prisoners shuffle forward. They look like corpses in striped pajamas. One prisoner catches the Man's eye: a young BOY. He's not dead like the others, not yet.
NAZI GUARD
(in German)
Stop. Today is an important day.
The prisoners are brought to a halt. The guards leading them stand at the ready, guns in hand. None of the prisoners are wearing shoes. The Nazi Guard turns to the Man.
NAZI GUARD (Cont'd)
(in German)
How many did you say?
MAN
(in German)
The orders say twelve.
EXT. STREETS OF BERLIN - EARLY MORNING
The soldiers begin knocking on doors in pairs.
INT. LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
The Man closes his eyes.
MAN (V.O.)
(in German)
It's time.
EXT. LABOR CAMP - DAY (FLASHBACK)
NAZI GUARD
(in German)
The first twelve of you who move, will die.
The young Boy slowly reaches back to hold the hand of the older man behind him. The Nazi Guard smiles and points another guard over to the Boy. The guard grabs the boy and drags him out of the line. The Boy screams and reaches back for the older man's hand, grasping at air. The older man doesn't react, he just closes his eyes.
The Nazi Guard walks over behind the Boy and whispers:
NAZI GUARD
(in German)
I am going to shoot you in the head. You will die and your father will watch.
Boy
(in German)
Papa! Papa please!
The older man looks over at his son without moving his head. The Nazi Guard puts his gun next the Boy's head. He pulls the trigger. Small drops of blood fly over and stain the older man's clothes. He winces.
NAZI GUARD
(in German)
And now you.
The Man watches from by the fence. He holds a pocket watch in his shaking hand.
INT. LIVING ROOM - early morning
There is a knock at the door. The Man looks up from the uniform. His blond WIFE stares at him from an adjacent room. Both look helplessly to the back door.
